Butuuro peoples’ Sacco is a member owned, governed and controlled institution which started operations in 2007 and operates within South Western Uganda. Its Head Office is located in Nyakabirizi Trading Centre, Bushenyi- Ishaka Municipality with Branches in Kyabugimbi Town Council, Kashenshero Town Council, Mitooma District and an outreach in Bikurungu Town Council, Rukungiri District.

Butuuro Peoples Sacco is looking for qualified, experienced and result oriented individuals to fill the following positions:-

01(One) Legal Officer

Purpose of the Position:

The Legal Officer is responsible for safeguarding the legal interests of the organization. This includes drafting and reviewing legal documents, representing the institution in legal proceedings, conducting comprehensive legal research, and providing expert legal advice to minimize risks and ensure compliance with laws and organizational policies.

Reporting to: General Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Draft and review legal documents to ensure they are in line with organizational policies and legal standards.
  2. Represent the organization in various legal forums, including courts of law, effectively communicating and advocating on its behalf.
  3. Conduct thorough legal research to support legal proceedings and provide informed advice.
  4. Offer legal advice to various departments to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in legislation and its impact on the organization.

Job Requirements and Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Law and a Diploma in Legal Practice (LDC).
  2. At least one year of experience in court practice is an added advantage, along with any other relevant legal experience.
  3. Demonstrated high levels of honesty, integrity, and accountability.
  4. Strong planning and organizational skills.
  5. Excellent writing and reporting abilities.
  6. Effective problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to follow instructions and procedures diligently.
  8. Applicant should be no more than 35 years of age.

Desired Competencies:

  1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  2. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  3. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

 

 05 (Five) Credit officers

Purpose of the Position:

The Credit Officer is integral in managing the credit and loan processes of the institution. This includes preparing loan documentation, evaluating client creditworthiness, and overseeing loan monitoring, recovery, and reporting activities.

Reporting to: Branch Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and process client loan documentation, ensuring compliance with institutional standards and policies.
  2. Assess the creditworthiness of clients through thorough analysis and evaluation.
  3. Monitor the loan portfolio to identify and mitigate risks.
  4. Engage in effective loan recovery strategies and maintain accurate reporting on loan performance.
  5. Work closely with clients to understand their financial needs and offer appropriate credit solutions.

Job Requirements and Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Microfinance, Agribusiness Management, or a relevant field from a recognized educational institution.
  2. Knowledge in credit administration and portfolio analysis.
  3. Demonstrated high levels of honesty, integrity, and accountability.
  4. Excellent planning, organizing, and negotiation skills.
  5. Strong communication skills coupled with effective people management abilities.
  6. Ability to frequently travel to the field as required; ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid driving permit is a plus.
  7. Applicant should be no more than 30 years of age.

  2. Efficient in time management and able to meet deadlines.
  3. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  4. Team player with a positive attitude towards work.

 03 (Three) Cashiers

Purpose of the Position:

As a Cashier, you will play a crucial role in handling the institution’s daily financial transactions. This includes receiving cash deposits, managing cash payouts to customers and service providers, and ensuring accurate balancing of daily cash transactions.

Reporting to: Branch Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately handle cash deposits from various sources, ensuring proper documentation and verification.
  • Process cash withdrawals, ensuring compliance with transaction policies and customer verification.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of daily cash transactions and balances.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, resolving customer inquiries and issues promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a smooth flow of transactions and a positive customer experience.

Job Requirements and Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a relevant field from a recognized educational institution.
  2. Demonstrated high levels of honesty, integrity, and accountability.
  3. Strong customer care skills, with an ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage interpersonal relationships.
  4. Professional appearance and a commitment to maintaining a neat and well-groomed presence.
  5. Applicant should be no more than 30 years of age.

Desired Competencies:

  1. Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  2. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  4. Effective communication skills.
